I found a solution although this is probably just my computer having problems rather than the game. If you add the game to Steam and run it through Steam it works fine.

I am on Windows and whenever I try to open it nothing happens. I've read other people have a loading screen error due to having saves from the demo but that shouldn't be a problem for me. It also doesn't match the description. I click it, it does the little loading circle instead of the cursor for about a second, and then nothing happens.  If you know what's wrong any help would be appreciated.
